At long last, the 2022 Toyota Tundra is finally here, and before its official debut, the Japanese automaker has teased the truck one final time in TRD Pro guise.
The only thing really new about this photo is the pickup’s orange paint, as after leaks of its design online, Toyota was prompted to prematurely reveal some info on the truck. That being said, this is the first photo of its exterior that didn’t come as a result of the leaks. Nevertheless, at this point we already know almost everything there is to know about this upcoming Tundra, the only real exception being its engine.

And on the topic of that engine, dubbed “iForce MAX“, it is expected to be a V6 instead of a V8, and in all likelihood is closely related to the new Land Cruiser’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. Should that be the case, the engine makes 409 hp (415 PS / 305 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, which is a sizeable upgrade over the outgoing V8’s 381 hp (386 PS / 284 kW) and 401 lb-ft (544 Nm) of torque. There have also been talks of adding electrification to the Tundra lineup, but not much information has been provided beyond the news itself.
Aside from that, Toyota plans on making the Tundra more refined and up-to-date, which will be accomplished with a more modern, upscale interior, a completely new infotainment system, and an all-new suspension setup that eschews leaf springs in favor of coils.
The 2022 Toyota Tundra will be revealed in full tonight, September 19, at 9PM EST.
