Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk said Saturday he probably has COVID-19.
“Am getting wildly different results from different labs, but most likely I have a moderate case of COVID,” the 49-year-old billionaire tweeted Saturday evening, in response to a question about whether he had the disease. “My symptoms are that of a minor cold, which is no surprise, since a coronavirus is a type of cold.”
The comment came days after the fifth-richest man in the world tweeted, “Something extremely bogus is going on” regarding COVID-19 testing. “Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse.”
He later complained after media outlets reported he was positive for the coronavirus, that a headline saying he was negative would be equally correct.
The news came as the number of deaths from COVID in the U.S. reached 245,495 according to Johns Hopkins’ COVID-19 Dashboard. Nearly 177,225 new cases were reported across the country in the past 24 hours, and nearly 69,500 people are hospitalized with the disease.
